Sax on the Web, or SOTW, is probably the world's largest saxophone community. Lot's of interesting topics, information, really nice people to communicate with. Also very nice marketplace where you can buy or sell with confidence.

From the above list, I personally dealt with USA horn. Mark Rikita, the owner, was my main technician while I lived in USA. I bought my first saxophone, Yamaha YTS-275, from him and also sold this horn through his shop when I bought my first Mark VI. Both of Mark VIs that I owned (including the one I have now) I bought from Tenor Madness - Randy Jones is the owner. I heard a lot of good things about Robert's Woodwinds, located in Manhattan, New York City, but he has high prices too. Also, Emilio Lyons is highly regarded technician reachable through Ray Burn Music. Mark Overtone from Saxquest is also a very good guy. Has some great mouthpieces for sale too. Recently, I also heard good things about Matt Stohrer from Stohrer music. Lot's of overhaul videos available on Youtube from this guy.

From the list above, I have personal experience with Freddie Gregory who refaced my Florida Link. I also have Tone Master Link refaced by him, though I bought it refaced already. Mojo Bari refaced my double-ring Link. I also have another Tone Master refaced by Johannes Gerber, also a fantastic piece. I have dealt with Phil (Phil Tone) who made me my only alto mouthpiece. One of my best tenor pieces, Dukoff short shank - Charlie Ventura model - was bought from and refaced by Phil Barone. I had a few of the Phil's pieces too. From Theo Wanne, I have Ambika tenor piece. When I had some squeeking problems with my Freddie's Tone Master Link and double-ring Link, I recently sent them to Brian Powell who did wonders with them. Just a touch to bring them back to the required measurements and I gained better response, cleaner tone, thicker core in the upper register. I also needed a quick turn-around (during 1 week trip to USA) and he actually worked on my pieces on his birthday. Finally, I can highly recommend Mark Sepinuck, aka 10mfan, from whom I bought several great mouthpieces including Brilhart hard rubber and his 10mfan Merlot. Mark is a great guy that works hard to help you pick the mouthpiece you need. Pretty honest, flexible and renouned in the sax community. His prices are a bit higher than the ones you see on ebay, but if he says the piece is great-paying paying the premium price is really worth it.
