Lawton 7 Metal Tenor Mouthpiece

I bought this one from SOTW user silvin who got it from Mark - 10mfan - in January 2009 for 450$. Mark always dealt with great pieces and this drew my attention to this one. The sound clip (below) from Sylvain (silvin) was also great so I wanted to give it a try. It is "Larger throat, low baffle for big darker tone" model. It also says "Tenor Silver No. 7". I guess at the time I wanted mouthpiece with more power than my Links.

The mouthpiece is very well made. Stainless steel, with rail for the ligature that holds the reed firmly in place. No need to spend time trying out different ligatures. Sound is more focused than I am used to, brighter than I am used to, control is great, good altissimo, a little less spread bottom. Being great player, as this one is, it stayed in my collection though I never spent too much time on it. Always turned back to my Links. As suggested by Sylvain, this mouthpiece should work great with "Alexander Superial 3" and "Lavoz Medium" reeds.
