Meyer Bros. New York 5 Medium Chamber Hard Rubber Tenor Mouthpiece

I bought this one on eBay on January 28, 2006, for 290$. I was still green at a time and I heard a lot of hype about those Meyer Bros. mouthpieces in alto sax world, so I wanted to check how these sounded on tenor.

The piece was an excellent player, great sound, great intonation top to bottom. However, I preferred my slant signature Link and since I also purchased Guardala at a time (experimenting), I needed to recover some cash so this one had to go. I only played it for a couple of hours. Beak had a small tooth mark which is more like a scratch than the indentation, tip, chamber and side rails had NO imperfections. On the outer edge of the table there was a minor imperfection which did not affect anything.

Here is what Theo's site has to say about these:
>>>"Meyer Brothers New York:
The most looked for of the Meyer mouthpieces, these, like the True Flex mouthpieces, had a fat body and came in a small, medium, and large chamber. The small chambers were very bright, and the large chambers were very dark. hence most people play on the medium chambers, though many players prefer the large or small chamber. The finish work on these mouthpieces was excellent and they had very rounded inner side walls and small roll over baffle at the tip. The Meyer Brothers mouthpieces are also known for having a very good hard rubber compound that produces a very rich sound."<<<

Sold it on June 4, 2006, to a player in South Korea. Good luck!
